RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to the Manager of Budget and Financial Reporting, this position will be responsible for the following duties:

• Provide support to the Manager of Budget and Financial Reporting in the preparation and management of the university budgeting processes, including:
        • Preparation and review of budget reports;
        • Assisting in the development of new budgets;
        • Monitoring and maintaining budgets, including preparation of budget changes;
        • Salary and benefit projections; and
        • Preparation of various financial reconciliations and claims.

• Maintain relationships with and provide support to various deans, directors, and other members of the university community regarding their operating budgets.

• Assist the Manager of Budget and Financial Reporting with various processes relating to the year-end audit, including preparation of year-end working papers and journal entries.

• Preparation of financial analysis and reports with attention to details and deadlines, including:
        • Account analysis and reconciliations;
        • Revenue and expenditure reports; and
        • Various internal and external reports and statistics.

• Represent the Comptroller’s office on various committees as required.

• Other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Business degree with concentration in accounting. A professional designation would be an asset, but is not required.
• 3 years related experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – verbal and written.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to effectively manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to remember numerous details, both qualitative and quantitative.
• Proficiency in spreadsheet, word processing, data analysis software and other business software.
