The Department of Sociology and Anthropology invites applications from qualified sessional instructors to teach the following course in the Winter Semester 2017. This course is subject to budgetary approval.

Sociology/Anthropology 259 APPLIED SOCIAL RESEARCH
The course considers the nature of applied forms of research and policy in Western and non-Western contexts using both anthropological and sociological approaches. Topics are selected from cross-cultural considerations of: economic development, urban-rural divides, poverty, race and ethnicity, sexism, health, religious difference, and sexuality.

Required qualifications are a MA or PhD in Sociology or Anthropology, teaching
experience, and a background in the various socio-cultural approaches on the meaning, nature, and professional conduct of applied forms of social research. Previous related professional experience will be considered an asset.

Members of the Sessional Roster of the academic unit will be given priority.
