The Athletics & Recreation Department requires an Operations Assistant for Panther Academy Summer Camps to conduct all administrative duties and work directly with the Camp Coordinator.  

Day camps are offered to children currently in Kindergarten to Grade 6.  Our camps provide the opportunity for campers to learn in a safe and fun environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the guidance of the Camp Coordinators the Operations Assistant will:
• Conduct all administrative duties & process payments and registrations
• Handle the logistics of daily camp operations
• Be responsible for all purchasing of equipment/supplies
• Update the Panther Academy website
• Develop policies and procedures
• Be primary point of contact for all registration inquiries
• Assist with staff training/orientation sessions and staff meetings
• Have effective business and customer service skills
• Be responsible for submitting weekly reports to the Camp Coordinator.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Priority will also be given to students in accordance with the Recruitment, Selection, Hiring and Employment Policies and Procedures Manual who possess the following; 

• Previous experience working with children or working in a camp setting (a background in administration work)
• Experience handling large sums of money and preparing cash deposits
• Previous experience developing or leading educational programming for children and knowledge of gym/outdoor games and activities
• Experience in a supervisory role
• Ability to communicate and be assertive, enthusiastic, outgoing, friendly and courteous
• Ability to relate positively to staff, campers and parents
• Adapt easily to unexpected circumstances
• Minimum of one year of post-secondary education is required along
• Criminal Record Check upon hiring
