$49,231 to $54,164 per annum pro-rated to term as per CUPE 1870

As soon as possible for six months (Term may be reduced or extended depending on performance, available funding and departmental requirements.) 

The Veterinary Teaching Hospital requires an Animal Health Technician to provide technical support for the Ambulatory Equine Service. 


• Stocking and maintaining supplies
• Assisting veterinarian by providing proper restraint and handling which can be physically demanding
• Assist in taking radiographs and laboratory samples
• Assist with treatments and diagnostic work-ups
• Monitoring and reporting any abnormalities with patients
• Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness in all work areas
• Provide clinical support to other areas of the VTH at various times of the year
• Invoicing and record keeping
• Work schedule may include some evenings and weekends
• Other related duties as assigned


• Must be a graduate of a recognized Animal Health Technician program from a recognized facility (RVT designation is preferred)
• Must have current experience handling and working with horses and companion animals
• Must have positive and willing attitude, be self-motivated but also be able to work as part of a team
• Must possess good communication skills
• Expected to provide excellence in Client Services
• Must have excellent organizational skills
• Must have good computer skills and experience with billing is an asset
