37.5 hours per week

$11.51 per hour (vacation pay included)

Between May 5th, 2014 to August 29th, 2014 (14 weeks – negotiable what weeks are worked)

• participate in research in Human-Computer Interaction and Computer Science Education through assisting in the design and implementation of a multi-surface environment. A multi-surface environment is an interactive computer system composed of several displays (including tablets, mobile phones, wall and table displays) that work together seamlessly to enable new applications and interactions 
• work under the direction and in collaboration with a faculty member, and remotely with a team of students at the University of Saskatchewan
•  work with the research team to formulate and document the basic design for the multi-surface environment
• primarily be responsible for implementing, integrating and testing important parts of new technology

• The successful candidate(s) should have completed at least two years of a Computer Science undergraduate degree
• Students must be willing to work independently, to proactively research best practices and alternative approaches, to keep track of their work activities, to present their work to members of the research team, and be able to work well in a team
• priority may be given to students with experience in web development, and/or who have completed CS 206
• Knowledge or skills of HTML, Javascript, Node.js, iPhone development and Linux would be considered assets.
Priority to University of Prince Edward Island students in accordance with Recruitment, Selection, Hiring and Employment Policies and Procedures manual.
