 RESPONSIBILITIES:
To assist in and carry out field ecology research with a team of graduate and undergraduate students on a common beach plant and wild lupines. The position will involve fieldwork in natural and roadside habitats in PEI, surveying plant populations, collecting measurement and tally data on wild plants and collected specimens, and may require some trips off-island. The student will also be responsible for managing data collection, completing data entry, and caring for preserved collections. The student’s primary role will be to assist in on-going projects.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The successful candidate(s) should be a returning Biology student, and have completed at least one year of a Biology undergraduate degree. Students must be willing to work outdoors in all types of weather, demonstrate patience and attention to detail, work well in a team, and able to follow directions. All interested candidates are encouraged to apply, but preference will be given to students with an interest in environmental sciences, plant ecology and/or field biology research.
