Hours of Work: 

33.75 hours per week (May 7 – August 31, 2012) 15 hours per week (Sept 3 - Sept 28, 2012)

Salary: 
$10.74 per hour (vacation pay included)

May 7 to September 28th, 2012 (Hours flexible including days, evenings, and weekends)

The Student Recruitment Team requires a highly motivated current student to provide support to the UPEI Recruitment Team and Student Services with delivery of services to incoming first year students. This senior student will assume an instrumental role in the development and delivery of the 2012 New Student Orientation (NSO) program, and assist with First Year Registration support, the campus tour program and prospective student outreach via mail, telephone, and electronic media.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate will:
• Work with the Recruitment team to develop and deliver the New Student Orientation Program for fall 2012
• Facilitate community and business partnerships for NSO
• Recruit and lead a team of 30+ student volunteers to deliver the NSO Program
• Utilize various modes of communication, including the creation of Blogs and Facebook pages and the UPEI NSO webpage, to communicate with students and respond to questions and requests
• Maintain statistical data for various aspects of NSO activities and events
• Monitor and maintain an NSO budget
• Coordinate the campus tour program and conduct campus tours
• Represent UPEI at various community events
• Provide registration support to first year students through the UPEI FYAC
• Contribute to the day to day operations of UPEI Student Services
• Other related and administrative duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
The following qualifications are required:
• 2nd year standing or higher; must be returning to UPEI in the fall
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Experience in a leadership role
• Be a self starter; the ability to work with minimal supervision
• Familiarity with computers and software programs
• Knowledgeable of UPEI programs, services, and facilities
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
• Hold a valid driver’s license
