 The Faculty of Education requires the services of a student to work in the administrative office and on special projects in the Administrative Office, and Education Learning Commons (ELC) and Faculty Recruitment, Admissions & Alumni.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Administrative Office (On average two days per week): The student assistant will digitize and purge practicum records in the administrative office, and assist with other organizational tasks as needed. The student will report to the Assistant of the Dean.
ELC (On average two days per week): The student assistant will be responsible for organization, cataloguing and inventory of the manipulatives and realia collection, and other duties as required. The student will report to the Assistant of the Dean.
Recruitment, Admissions & Alumni (On average one day a week): The student assistant will help with planning summer reunion activities in coordination with the Advancement Office, and help out with the Dean’s Honours & Awards, which will be presented at the summer reunion. The student will report to the Assistant of the Dean.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The successful candidate must be a returning student between the ages of 15 and 30. Priority will be given to students in the Faculty of Education.
The successful candidate should be comfortable with or able to quickly learn how to use a variety of software and other technologies, including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, and Google Docs. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and self-motivated, with good time management skills and a positive attitude.
Previous experience in a school or university library setting would be an asset, but is not required.
