Applications are invited for up to four Research Assistants, working under the supervision of Dr. Wendy Carroll, Faculty Director of the UPEI Workforce Strategies Research Group working on one or more developing research projects. This position will be part-time, commencing immediately until March 31, 2013.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Research Assistants will work closely with UPEI WSRG project manager Scott Wilson, and will be primarily engaged in the contacting of training participants to solicit their responses to a survey. Duties include but are not limited to the following:
• The ability to speak clear and fluent English;
• The ability to communicate effectively, clearly and professionally;
• The ability to administer surveys;
• The ability to follow a written script and follow calling guidelines;
• The ability to use Excel software; and
• The ability to perform basic descriptive statistical analysis using SPSS would be an asset.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants must possess a Bachelors level degree. Applicants should be motivated and self-directed, literate in computer and information technologies. Knowledge and experience of the Prince Edward Island labour force would be an asset. Attention to detail and the ability to keep information confidentiality are required. All successful candidates will be required to sign a confidentiality agreement. The job will require substantial portions of the work to be completed in the evenings and Saturdays.
