 The Tourism Research Centre (TRC), housed in the School of Business Administration on the UPEI campus, is an independent body providing timely, accurate and professional research on the tourism industry. For June and July, the TRC requires vibrant individuals who will serve as Research Assistants.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Research Assistants will be primarily involved in field work distributing and collecting surveys onsite at various festivals, events, and performances across PEI. The schedule is not consistent from week to week, but work will be available for approximately four weeks starting in June. The successful candidates must be extremely comfortable approaching strangers, reliable, and have strong verbal communication skills. Conversational French would be an asset. The student(s) will be expected to provide his or her own transportation. This position will require evening and weekend work.
Although it is not mandatory that you are available for work during the school year, part time work will also be available in September.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Comfortable working with the public and approaching strangers
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Communication skills
• Conversational French would be an asset
