Dr. Vicki Foley invites applications for a graduate nursing student to work on a research project examining the intergenerational context of nursing preceptorship.  More specifically, Dr. Foley is exploring the experiences of Baby Boomer preceptors who have worked with Millennial students in a practice setting. The graduate student will be involved in all phases of the research project.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The graduate student will work directly with the PI. He/she will participate in the entire research process including:
• coordinating recruitment of participants
• assisting in interviewing participants (~30 hours work) and collecting other relevant data
• assisting with data analysis
• participating in the communication of research findings

In addition, the graduate student will be involved in co-authoring at least two manuscripts and presenting at a scholarly conference. The experience gained from this research project will enhance the student's ability to carry out their own thesis research project.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Ability to work well independently
• Demonstrates strong initiative and an ability to be self-directed
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Familiar with Microsoft word 
• Interest in global health and international nursing practice
• Organized and manages time efficiently and effectively
