The Comptroller’s Office is seeking applications for a Finance Officer. Reporting to the Comptroller, this position will be responsible for the following duties:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Preparation of financial analysis and reports with attention to details and deadlines, including:
     • Data queries using various software
     • Building new report templates
     • Account analysis and reconciliations
     • Preparation of journal entries
     • Preparation of year end working papers
     • Support yearend audit processes
• Provide support to budget processes, including:
     • Preparation and review of budget reports
     • Assisting in budget costings
     • Preparation of budget changes
     • Communicate with budget holders as necessary
• Provide support during the conversion to a new financial system, including:  
     • Support analysis of financial data conversation between systems
     • Update historic reports with new chart of accounts information
     • Provide support to other Finance staff as needed
• Other related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Business degree with concentration in accounting. A professional designation would be an asset, but is not required
• 3 years related experience
• Experience in audit working paper preparation
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – verbal and written
• Ability to remember numerous details, both qualitative and quantitative
• Advanced proficiency in spreadsheet, data analysis software and other business software
