The Faculty of Education invites applications for the position of ADS 4. This employee will provide a wide variety of administrative support services to initiatives related to the Nunavut Master of Education (MEd), the Certificate in Educational Leadership in Nunavut (CELN) and ongoing educational research projects in Nunavut. Working as a member of a small team the successful candidate will provide administrative support to the faculty and staff working on Nunavut Initiatives and the Project Manager: Programs, Evaluation and Research- Inuit Education in Nunavut.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate will:
• Maintain an online electronic filing system using Google applications
• Maintain and monitor program and research budgets and financial transactions
• Update monthly account balance sheets
• Book travel and complete travel claims
• Process contracts
• Complete requisitions and invoices
• Perform light website maintenance and updating
• Draft letters and reports
• Organization of office resources and ordering office supplies
• Preparing information for public relations within the Nunavut programs and research initiatives
• Perform other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS:
The successful applicant will possess the following qualifications:
• Grade 12 graduation plus completion of a recognized post secondary program in a related area is required plus a minimum of one year relevant work experience, preferably in a University environment.
• Experience and use of computers with various software programs such as
Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Applications, Drupal, and Internet. Familiarity with the university accounting system UIS, considered an asset.
• Must possess excellent communication skills and the ability to function as a member of a team in a busy academic and research department.
• Familiarity with First Nations, Inuit, and cross-cultural contexts is an advantage.
