An assistant is required to support ongoing research projects in plant science in Dr. Christian Lacroix’s laboratory.  Students with a strong interest in pursuing advanced studies in environmental science will be given priority.  This position will involve field work.  Training in techniques relevant to the discipline will be provided.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assisting other lab personnel with field and lab work related to ongoing projects
• Retrieving scientific literature
• Organizing and entering data using standard software
• Updating and maintenance of lab’s web site (VRE)
• Growing plants from seed stock

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Knowledge of plant development and conservation ecology is an asset
• Experience using word processing and spreadsheet software required
• B+ overall average (or higher) in Biology/Environmental Studies courses
