Applications are invited for one student research assistant position with Dr. Richard Raiswell on the journal Preternature.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The students will work in the three following areas:
(1) Journal Management for Peer-Reviewed Journal, Preternature
As part of the Preternature team, the student will participate in our weekly teleconference meeting, and become familiar with the process of running a journal.
(2) Data Management
The student will be charged with reviewing and editing our corpus of author and reviewer data, checking, revising, updating and supplementing it where appropriate.
(3) On-Line Content Management
The student assistant will be trained and will then help the journal’s transition from Open Journal Systems online submission and peer review system to Penn State University’s Aries Editorial Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants should be in their third, fourth or honours year of a Bachelors degree, and should have experience with online content management systems such as Drupal, experience creating and maintaining Excel spreadsheets, experience designing website information architecture, and experience with content migration across platforms. Applicants must be prepared to work as part of a team, have excellent communication, organisational and copy-editing skills. The successful applicant must be available for regular online meetings via Skype.
