As soon as possible until June 30th, 2013 (Term may be reduced or extended depending on performance, available funding and project requirements.)

Working under the supervision of the UPEI Digital Economy Research Team and affiliated with the Centre for Education Research, a part-time Project Manager is required to work on initiatives related to A University-College-Government-Community Partnership to Transform Education for Employment in the Digital Economy. This cross-sectoral partnership is being developed to co-create knowledge on how the digital economy changes the kinds of literacies students require to be successful, to increase the socio-cultural imagination of what is possible in schools, and to more accurately identify teacher capacity for innovation.
The successful candidate will:
• Manage the program of the research team
• Maintain and monitor research budgets and financial transactions
• Manage confidential data and UPEI research ethics processes
• Organize meetings, manage meeting details, and liaise with multiple partners
• Manage office functions, scheduling, room bookings, space requirements
• Develop and support the delivery of project presentations
• Write reports and documents as required
• Collaborate with researchers to draft follow up grant submissions
• Manage correspondence and public relations
• Manage web presence and social media for the project
• Perform other duties as required
Applicants should possess the following qualifications:
• A completed, or in progress, Master’s degree (or higher) in Education or related field
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to facilitate team functioning
• Previous successful project management experience and qualifications
• Demonstrated leadership, initiative, and self direction
• Excellent writing, editing and multi-media computer and social media skills
• Ability to analyze, synthesize and process information
• Experience developing, managing and reporting budgets
