Dr. James Polson is seeking four undergraduate research assistants to work on projects using computer simulation methods to study the physical properties of polymer systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Each student will write a Monte Carlo simulation program, which will be used to perform calculations to investigate the dynamics and conformational behaviour of polymers in confined environments. The simulations will be run on a multi-node computer cluster. The student will also analyze the resulting data and compare the results with theoretical predictions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Successful candidate should have their second year of study in an undergraduate physics program
• Experience with computer programming
• A completed thermodynamics or statistical physics course would be considered an asset

Priority will be given to University of Prince Edward Island students in accordance with Recruitment, Selection, Hiring and Employment Policies and Procedures manual.
