Orientation Week Coordinator
Hours of Work: 

37.5 hours per week (May 13 – August 31, 2013) 15 hours per week (Sept 3 - Sept 28, 2013)

$10.74 per hour (vacation pay included)

May 13th to September 30th, 2012 (Hours flexible including days, evenings, and weekends)

 The UPEI Student Union and the Office of the Vice-President Academic requires a highly motivated current student to coordinate UPEI’s Orientation Week for incoming students. This student will assume an instrumental role in the development and delivery of the 2013 Orientation Week.
The successful candidate will:
• Work with the UPEI Student Union to develop and deliver Orientation Week Program for fall 2013
• Facilitate community and business partnerships for Orientation Week
• Recruit and lead a team of 30+ student volunteers to deliver the Orientation Week
• Utilize various modes of communication, including Facebook pages, Twitter and the UPEI Orientation webpage, to communicate with students and respond to questions and requests
• Maintain statistical data for various aspects of O-Week activities and events
• Monitor and maintain an Orientation Week budget
• Contribute to the day to day operations of UPEI Student Union
• Other related and administrative duties as required
The following qualifications are required:
• Minimum of 2nd year standing; must be returning to UPEI in the fall
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Experience in a leadership role
• Be a self starter; the ability to work with minimal supervision
• Familiarity with computers and social media platforms
• Knowledgeable of UPEI Student Union and UPEI programs, services, and facilities
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
• Hold a valid driver’s license
