The Department of Development & Alumni Engagement is seeking 2 accomplished individuals to join our major gifts fundraising team.  As members of a high-performing, results-oriented team, these positions will play an active role in the development and execution of our new “Inspire!” Campaign.  The Development Officers, as a part of the Campaign team, will be integral in the planning and execution of a comprehensive major gift fundraising campaign for the University of Prince Edward Island.

• Responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with individuals and corporations who want to make a difference in the lives of UPEI students and promote a consistent image of UPEI as a major university of international caliber. 
• Identifies and manages a portfolio of active donors and prospects/donors with major gift capacity, including ongoing stewardship activates, in  order to create and maximize financial donations and enhance relationship between donors and UPEI
• Collaborate with senior managers in establishing private funding priorities and advises them on trends in the philanthropic world which affect organizational priorities. 
• Responsible for Major Gift Portfolio Fundraising and Liaison with Department.  To manage reactive gifts in-bound to departments, and to maintain a relationship with the departments on campus.
• In the management of their donor portfolio, will assign duties to staff members as required.

• Minimum 4 year undergraduate degree in a related field
• Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) designation would be considered an asset.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience, with  demonstrated track record, in fundraising and constituents relations in capital and/or endowment campaigns is expected, ideally in a post-secondary educational environment
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in excel and knowledge in Raiser’s Edge would be considered an asset.
• Demonstrated experience to make highly effective formal and informal presentations to diverse groups, large and small.
