$43,735 - $48,112 per annum, prorated to time and term as per CUPE 1870 (salary under review)

The Veterinary Teaching Hospital at the Atlantic Veterinary College is seeking applicants for a full-time permanent technical position in Anesthesia.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under supervision, the job responsibilities in Anesthesia will include: preanesthetic preparation of patients, induction and maintenance of anesthesia, recovery of patients, equipment cleaning and maintenance, maintenance of anesthetic and other records, assistance with clean-up, assistance with teaching students hospital protocols and procedures and maintenance of stock. Duties will involve all species with an emphasis on large animals. The position may involve some evenings and weekend work. Work in other areas of the hospital may be required on occasion.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduate of an AHT program from an accredited school. An RVT designation is desirable. Two years’ experience working in a clinical veterinary practice with experience in anesthesia. Experience and handling skills with large animals (esp. horses and cows) would be an asset. Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills and an ability to function effectively within a team are a must. Must be available to work flexible hours on occasion.
