$10.74 per hour (vacation pay included)

May 5, 2014 to August 22, 2014 (A total of 16 weeks)

Dr. Shafiqul Islam , Department of Mathematics and Statistics, is looking for a Student Research Assistant on a research project with the goal of developing techniques for   dynamical systems and cellular automata  with applications in health science.


• The research student will help with developing theoretical and numerical techniques for  dynamical systems and cellular automata with applications in health science.
• The research student will also review the literature concerning densities and invariant measures of discrete time dynamical systems in one and higher dimensions.


• The successful candidate will have strong background in Calculus, Linear Algebra and/or Analysis.
• Knowledge of programming and ability to program in MAPLE is preferred.
• The candidate must be in a Mathematics or Science Program at UPEI.
