Fall and Winter semesters 2013/14. EAP follows the same schedule as academic programs. See UPEI Calendar http://www.upei.ca/registrar/calendar_toc#dates (Term may be reduced or extended depending on performance, available funding and departmental requirements.)

 This posting is to create a list of qualified part-time instructors for substitute work and should numbers warrant additional classes in the 2013/2014 academic term. EAP is a non-credit program to assist students who speak English as an additional language reach the English proficiency required for university admission. Details can be viewed at http://upei.ca/eap.
• Teaching English from low intermediate to advanced proficiency level
• Formative and summative evaluation
• Curriculum development & lesson planning
• Participation in staff meetings
• Holding office hours to provide student assistance
• Participation in some extra-curricular events
• Facilitating some special events / workshops
• Uupholding the policies and regulations of the EAP program
• Curriculum evaluation and revision
• Other duties as assigned by the Coordinator

• Bachelor of Education degree; ESL teaching certificate & experience, or adult ESL teaching experience in combination with a relevant degree
• excellent English proficiency
• Experience or specialization in teaching writing is an asset, as is the flexibility to work late afternoon or evenings.
