The UPEI Student Experience Hub requires a highly motivated and innovative individual to join our recruitment team.  Reporting to the Director of Recruitment, Manager of Recruitment, and in concert with the relevant Dean, the incumbent will work with an interdisciplinary team to deliver the supports and services required for the recruitment and retention of UPEI students.  The position will specialize in the recruitment of students for graduate programs, and professional programs. The incumbent will support incoming students in their transition to university through coordinated outreach and recruitment. 

This position will work with the University’s domestic and international recruitment teams and other on-campus stakeholders in the development of recruitment initiatives (including promotional materials development, activities, events and other engagement strategies).

This position is pivotal to the development and delivery of the institutions goals for student enrolment and visions for student success.  As a member of the Student Experience Hub, the incumbent will be expected to contribute to the overall delivery of supports and services to the UPEI student population.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and conduct recruitment-based activities as required and planned for both undergraduate and graduate programs
• Develop recruitment strategies to attract qualified applicants for professional degrees and graduate programs at both the Masters and PhD levels (i.e. Faculty of Education BEd, MEd and PhD students, and other Faculties and Schools, as required)
• Availability and willingness to travel regularly
• In coordination with the Office of Research and Graduate Studies, and the Registrar’s Office, facilitate questions related to admissions criteria, and program details, responding to email, phone and in person queries
• Cultivate effective working relationships with Marketing and Communications to utilize social media, and other electronic forms of communication to address program based inquiries expeditiously
• Assist in the application process and ensure that applicants are engaged and supported

QUALIFICATIONS:

• An undergraduate degree in Education, Communications, Business Administration or a related field, fluency in a second language would be considered an asset
• Relevant experience, or equivalent, in recruitment, marketing, university admissions, operational planning and partnership development
• Experience with public speaking and comfortable speaking to diverse groups, including students at the undergraduate and graduate levels, college/university officials, and the educational community
• Knowledge of university programs, student supports and student life
• Knowledge of university degree requirements, and admission standards
• Proficiency in academic advising, academic coaching and registration facilitation
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Demonstrated initiative, excellent judgment, creativity and problem-solving
• Demonstrated experience in computer applications, including data analysis and management to support student engagement activities
• Ability to travel provincially, nationally and internationally may be required
• Holding a valid driver’s license is mandatory
