This posting is to create a list of qualified part-time instructors for substitute work and should numbers warrant additional classes in second summer session 2012 and for the academic term 2012/13. EAP is a non-credit program to assist students who speak English as an additional language reach the English proficiency required for university admission. Details can be viewed at http://upei.ca/webstercentre/eap.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Teaching English from low intermediate to advanced proficiency level
- Formative and summative evaluation
- Participation in staff meetings
- Holding office hours to provide student assistance
- Participation in some extra-curricular events
- Facilitating some special events / workshops
- Upholding the policies and regulations of the EAP program
- Curriculum evaluation and revision
- Other duties as assigned by the Coordinator
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor of Education degree, ESL teaching certificate & experience, or adult ESL teaching experience in combination with a relevant degree. Excellent English proficiency. Experience or specialization in teaching writing is an asset, as is the flexibility to work late afternoon or evenings.
