33.75 hours per week 

$12.95 per hour (vacation pay included)

The School of Sustainable Design Engineering is seeking applications for up to three (3) temporary student research assistant positions.


• These positions are required to work in lab and possibly field environments under the direction of Dr. Andrew Swingler, Associate Professor, to design, build and operate laboratory test infrastructure for the purposes of evaluating energy storage system performance – mainly for solar power applications
• The incumbents are required to assist with the design and operation of battery charge cycling equipment. This will include designing research apparatus as well as running experiments and collecting data


• The student must have solid computer skills, mechanical design skills (solidworks) and a working knowledge of electric circuits and componentry
• Hands-on skills are essential
• Qualifications include good academic record, a strong work ethic, capability to work in a team and independently, and willingness to work in lab and field environments

Priority is given to University of Prince Edward Island students in accordance with Recruitment, Selection, Hiring and Employment Policies and Procedures manual.
