Salary: 
$35,029 - $38,542 per annum, prorated to term as per CUPE 1870 (salary under review)
Term: 

June 2012 to June 2013 (Term may be reduced or extended depending on performance, available funding and departmental requirements.)

The UPEI Department of Advancement is a team of ten staff responsible for a wide range of functions including raising more than $5 million per annum through major gifts, the Annual Fund campaign, and other appeals. The Department is also responsible for alumni affairs, maintaining a 24,000 constituent database of alumni, friends and donors of UPEI, prospect research, capital campaigns, planned giving, donor relations and donor recognition, award creation, and event management. The Department is seeking a skilled individual to serve as an administrative assistant in this fast-paced department.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to the Associate Director of Development, the administrative assistant will perform all aspects of administrative support to the associate director and the development team, and will serve as the department’s receptionist. Excellent clerical, coordination and communication skills are required.
The incumbent will be responsible for providing high quality clerical support with emphasis on support for general administrative duties and scholarship and award activities related to the Department. The incumbent will perform other related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Interested candidates should have proven clerical skills, demonstrated proficiency in word-processing and spreadsheet applications, merging data between applications, and familiarity and comfort with relational databases. Non-profit experience and knowledge of Raiser’s Edge software will be considered assets.
The successful candidate will be highly motivated, proactive, and a team player who can successfully multi-task and who takes pride in meeting deadlines. He/she will also have demonstrated strong attention to detail, demonstrated proficiency in oral and written communication, the ability to work independently, and someone who exercises a high degree of initiative, confidentiality and sound judgement
