The Department of Health Management is looking to create a list of Shellfish Health Technicians for casual on-call employment. The successful applicants will be responsible for assisting in laboratory and field work for ongoing projects with the Shellfish Health Research Group.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• use of an assortment of field and laboratory equipment
• collection of specimens from wild or cultured shellfish stocks while working on small boats
• primary processing of collected specimens
• data entry using computers and associated software
• other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
High school graduate. Preference will be given to candidates with a Laboratory or Aquaculture Technician/Technologist Certificate or experience in laboratory and analysis and marine-based field work. Capability to do repetitive work, excellent organizational skills, ability to pay attention to details, and the ability to learn quickly.
