 RESPONSIBILITIES:
To assist in and carry out plant ecology and evolution research with a team of graduate and undergraduate students. The position will involve fieldwork in natural and roadside habitats in PEI, surveying plant populations, collecting measurement and tally data on wild plants and collected speciments, and may require some trips off-island. The student will also be responsible for managing data collection, completing data entry, and caring for preserved collections. The student’s primary responsibilities will involve a project with wild lupines.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The successful candidate(s) should have completed at least two years of a Biology undergraduate degree, and will have declared their specialization in the Biology Environmental Sciences stream. Students must be willing to work outdoors in all types of weather, demonstrate patience and attention to detail, have a valid driver's license, and work well in a team. All interested candidates are encouraged to apply, but priority may be given to students with an interest in the Biology honours thesis (490) or senior research project (440) in environmental sciences.
