33.75 hours per week
(May be required to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, if and when required.)

$40,890 to $44,995 per annum as per CUPE 1870

The Robertson Library is seeking applications for a qualified individual to work under the general direction of the Collections Librarian.


• provide acquisitions services, including placing orders, processing invoices and materials, and recording financial transactions
• to staff a regular shift on the Circulation and Reference Desks
• to work with Library staff on special projects as required.


• Library Technician Diploma or an equivalent combination of education and related work experience
• Bachelor's degree from a recognized post-secondary institution, experience working in an academic library setting, and/or experience working at a library public service point would be considered assets.
• minimum of  two years experience in an automated library environment
• financial record keeping experience; good math and computer skills
• strong commitment to enhancing service through teamwork and responsiveness to clients
• strong technology skills and  the ability to adapt to changing technologies and work flows
• effective writing skills and proficiency with spreadsheet and word processing programs
• a flexible approach, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to effectively respond to issues; an open attitude toward new technology
• ability to communicate effectively with Library staff and University faculty and students
• ability to create appropriate technical and training documentation/materials
• excellent communication, organizational, and collaborative skills
