Salary: 
$40,890 to $44,995 per annum as per CUPE 1870

The Robertson Library is seeking applications for a qualified individual to work under the general direction of the Research and Data Services Librarian to provide interlibrary loan services to University students, faculty and staff.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• bibliographic searching, determining an appropriate lending library, and requesting items using the interlibrary loan system (RELAIS and DOCLINE)
• receiving and distributing incoming material to clients; returning borrowed materials to lending libraries and providing materials to fill requests received from other libraries
• overseeing processing of invoices and reviewing financial statements
• reviewing and updating procedures on a regular basis
• maintaining appropriate training documentation/materials for use by other staff
• collecting statistics and preparing reports
• communicating with individual clients and staff at UPEI and external libraries
• participating in regional interlibrary loan meetings
• to staff a regular shift on the Circulation and Reference Desks
• to work with Library staff on special projects as required

QUALIFICATIONS:

Applicants must have:
• a Library Technician Diploma or an equivalent combination of education and related work experience
• Bachelor's degree from a recognized post-secondary institution would be an asset.
• at least two years experience in an automated library environment
• an in-depth knowledge of bibliographic databases and strong searching skills
• the ability to communicate effectively with University students, faculty, and staff
• excellent organizational and collaborative skills
• the ability to work well independently and as a member of both the Library and regional interlibrary loan teams
• strong commitment to enhancing service through teamwork and responsiveness to clients
• strong technology skills plus an open attitude toward new technology
• effective writing skills and proficiency with spreadsheet and word processing programs
• a flexible approach, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to effectively respond to issues
