The Department of Political Science in the Faculty of Arts at the University of Prince Edward Island has an opening for a Sessional Instructor to teach POLS-1010 Introductory Politics I: Government and Politics in Liberal Democracies – Fall 2019. This position is subject to final budgetary approval.

POLS-1010 Introductory Politics I: Government and Politics in Liberal Democracies
This course is a comprehensive introduction to politics. Initially students explore the nature of political activity and basic concepts such as political culture, the nation-state, the various roles of government, and the international system. The course examines differences among democratic, authoritarian, and totalitarian political systems just as it introduces students to such contemporary ideologies as liberalism, conservatism, socialism and nationalism.

Lecture/Seminar: Three hours a week

3 hours credit

Successful applicant will have a minimum of a Ph.D. in Political Science

Preference will be given to qualified candidates with seniority on the UPEI Sessional Roster of the academic unit.
