 The Department of Student Affairs at the University of Prince Edward Island invites applications for a Career Counsellor.
Core responsibilities for the position will include the provision of short term counseling and advising services to students in various stages of their career and educational planning. Additional activities include the design and delivery of various career development/planning initiatives and outreach activities for our student population. Work with faculty and staff on a variety of student engagement and retention initiatives; continued development of the career center resources; and active participation in the campus community are also required.

A degree at the Masters level in Educational Counselling, or related discipline, with specific expertise in career counseling and at least three years experience in an appropriate post secondary environment is required. The ideal candidate will possess a background working with university students in career and educational development and planning. Experience working with various software and resources designed to assist students through the career planning process as well as developing and delivering public presentations are expected attributes. Experience working with a diverse student population reflecting the reality of today’s campus, including issues of culture, gender, orientation, and equity would be a definite asset.
