18.5 hrs per week

Commensurate with education and experience (grant funded)

As soon as possible until April 30, 2017 (Term may be reduced or extended dpending on performance, available funding and project requirements.)

UPEI Faculty of Education invites applications for the position of Project Manager for the Certificate in Educational Leadership in Nunavut (CELN) program and other programs in Nunavut. The Project Manager will report to the Dean of Education and the Academic Lead of CELN. The Project Manager will be responsible for the overall management of this prestigious project while providing management, administrative, and financial services support.


The successful candidate will:

  • Manage and monitor the budgets and financial transactions
  • Annually submit financial report of programs
  • Assist in writing reports, handbook
  • Update policies
  • Manage the ordering, delivery/distribution of copying and shipping of course package to Nunavut for courses
  • Assist in the identification and collection of Inuit educational resources
  • Manage public relations connected with the programs
  • Write articles and updates for communication and media purposes
  • Manage and coordinate travel arrangements associated with programs
  • Organize agendas, arrangements for, attend and take minutes for meetings
  • Acquire signed photo-release forms and take photos related to programs
  • Continually update website
  • If required, travel to Nunavut to assist in program implementation
  • Assist in the development, support, and presentation of educational initiatives related to programs
  • Facilitate assessment of programs
  • Work alongside the Faculty of Education, Graduate Programs Administrative Support person to ensure maintenance of records for students who have been/are registered in the program
  • Gain a solid understanding of the CELN Memorandum of Agreement and other cooperative agreements between the UPEI and the Government of Nunavut
  • Perform other duties, as required


The successful applicant will possess the following qualifications:

  • Completion of Undergraduate Degree in a related field
  • Experience working and researching within Inuit/Aboriginal communitiesis an asset
  • Knowledge of Inuit education, culture, languages and history is an asset
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with a team in an Inuit context
  • Previous successful project management experience and qualifications
  • Excellent writing, editing and multi-media computer technology skills
  • Ability to analyze, synthesize and process qualitative data and information
  • Experience developing, managing and reporting budgets
  • Strong administrative skills related to project management
