$35,029 - $38,542 per annum, prorated to time as per CUPE 1870 (salary under review)

The Office of Academic & Student Affairs invites applications for a permanent part-time (50%) administrative support position.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate will join a team of dedicated employees to provide administrative support in a fast-paced office environment. Specific duties will include, but not limited to:
• administering External Rotations
• telephone/reception, ie., respond to enquiries from students, faculty, staff and visitors
• auditing senior students transcripts
• co-ordinating peer tutoring
• creating and posting Academic & Student Affairs bulletins
• developing, maintaining and updating student handbooks, annually
• assisting students in a wide variety of areas, ie., maintaining locker and mail box assignments, communicating updates on scholarship opportunities, and externship postings
• facilitating with updates and maintaining the website
• lending support with the organization and maintenance of class schedules, midterms, final examinations
• general administrative responsibilities, ie., distribution of incoming mail, preparation of correspondence, photocopying, filing, arrange appointments and meetings
• aiding with the organization and maintenance of midterms and final examinations
• giving support with the North American Veterinary Licensing Examination (NAVLE)
• assisting with booking classroom space

QUALIFICATIONS:
Grade 12 graduation, and successful completion of administrative course or a combination of education and related experience. Medical terminology would be an asset. Relevant years of experience in related administrative support work.
• proven strength with interpersonal and communication skills with students, faculty, staff and the public
• demonstrated skill in working with peers as a motivated member of a team
• excellent organizational skills
• clear understanding of the importance of confidentiality
• a good working knowledge and experience in computers and computer systems; e.g., WordPerfect, Microsoft Word, Dbase programs, spreadsheet programs, Power Point, e mail, electronic scheduler
• familiarity with university regulations and policies would be an asset
