The University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI) is currently seeking a Dean to lead its Faculty of Science. The initial search is open to full-time tenured faculty members at UPEI at the rank of Associate or Full Professor. 

The term of office of the Dean shall be six years with a formal review after three years.

The Faculty of Science ( at UPEI is an active and dynamic group of people with a proven record of excellence in teaching, scholarly activities and outreach. The Faculty is comprised of approximately 50 faculty and 25 sessional instructors. The Faculty offers a wide variety of programs in Applied Human Sciences, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics & Statistics, Physics, Psychology, and Radiography.

The Dean will have a passion for teaching and research, as well as the ability to continue building a student-centered approach to the Faculty and the University. The Dean reports to the Vice-President Academic and will be an advocate for the Faculty of Science within the context of her/his broader role as a member of the senior management team. A PhD or equivalent, relevant leadership and administrative skills, as well as strong research and teaching records are requirements for this position.
