The Political Science Department at the University of Prince Edward Island has an opening for a Sessional Instructor for the Fall 2016 semester. This position is subject to final budgetary approval.

Political Science – POLS 101
Introductory Politics I:  Government and Politics in Liberal Democracies

This course is a comprehensive introduction to politics.  Initially students explore the nature of political activity and basic concepts such as political culture, the nation-state, the various roles of government, and the international system.  The course examines differences among democratic, authoritarian and totalitarian political systems just as it introduces students to such contemporary ideologies as liberalism, conservatism, socialism and nationalism.

Successful applicant will have a minimum of a Master’s Degree in the Humanities. Priority will be given to qualified individuals on the UPEI sessional roster of the academic unit.
