Mandatory meetings are scheduled throughout the semesters. Most positions require 10 -15 hrs per week. Hours worked range from early mornings to late nights and weekends.

$10.40 per hour (vacation pay included)

UPEI Athletics and Recreation hire over 50 student assistants throughout the academic year, making us one of the largest employers of students on campus. Student employees have major roles in the overall operation of the Athletic and Recreation facilities. We are looking for dependable and reliable students to help facilitate programs and services that are offered.
When applying, please indicate which of the following position(s) you are applying for.
1. Front Desk attendants (Sports Centre and Fitness Centre) – Front desk staff is employed to ensure authorized access and use of the facility. Also, provides accurate information and answers questions regarding hours of operation, programs and policies.
2. Facility Attendants – The facility attendant is employed to ensure the safe and equitable use of the sports facilities during open times. Facility attendant is also required to set up and teardown equipment.
3. Fitness Floor Attendants – The Fitness Floor Attendant oversees activities in the fitness area by providing basic knowledge of equipment use and encouragement to participants as well as cleaning equipment. Certification/Training by a recognized fitness certification program is required.
4. Group Exercise Instructors – Group Exercise Instructors must possess nationally recognized certification, knowledge/teaching ability of their form of aerobic exercise and good communication skills.
5. Event Staff – Event staff provide direction and security at the Panther Home Games and Special Events.
6. Intramural Staff – Intramural staff assist with the day to day coordination of recreation programs.
Applicants must have excellent customer service skills and positive attitude in serving students and other members. All student staff must have current CPR and AED training or agree to obtain this certification at their own expense.
