Ancillary Services at the University of Prince Edward Island includes Residence Services, Food Services, the Bookstore, Conference Services and more. We are seeking a strong candidate to fill the position of Assistant Manager, Conference Services.
Conference Services provides a diverse range of products and services to both on and off campus clients, including individual and group accommodations, meeting space, catering services, planning assistance, and more. We host a wide variety of small and large conferences, meetings, seminars, banquets, special events, and group visits.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Assistant Manager will play an integral role in planning and coordinating the various bookings at UPEI, from initial sales, to preliminary planning with the client, to provision of services during the event to post-event follow up. The Assistant Manager will work closely with the client to identify requirements, as well as other service providers on and off campus to ensure expectations are met with a high level of satisfaction. The Assistant Manager will also play a lead role with summer accommodations, including immediate oversight and supervision of the front desk operation and student staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must have a degree in Marketing or Business. Equivalencies will be considered. Direct experience in planning and coordinating conferences and accommodations is required. Candidates must have strong computer skills. The candidate must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision. Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal relations skills. This will be a demanding role that requires a strong ability to multi-task, balance competing priorities, and demonstrate strong initiative. The ideal candidate will have exceptional customer service skills, excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, demonstrated supervisory and interpersonal, facilitation and conflict management skills. Have the ability to work flexible hours. Strong understanding of financial management, including invoicing, reporting, etc.
