Political Science - POLS 393 W International Political Theory

This course focuses on the evolution of International Relations (IR) theory since the end of the Second World War.  The causes of conflict and the potential for peace are studied through the lenses of Realism and Liberalism, with Marxism providing a basis for critical analysis of the international system.  International Political Economy - which investigates links between economic and political power - receives particular attention as a natural development of IR's theoretical traditions.  The course concludes with a look at some more recent developments in IR's theoretical canon: the English School, Constructivism, and Post-colonialism.

Successful applicant must have a Ph.D. in Political Science and experience in on-line course design.  Priority will be given to qualified individuals on the UPEI sessional roster of the academic unit.
