STUDENT ASSISTANT – ANIMAL CARE RESOURCES
Hours of Work: 

37.5 hours per week

Salary: 
$10.74 per hour (vacation pay included)
Term: 

May through August 2012 (15 weeks)

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Department of Animal Resources is seeking one full-time student (37.5 hrs/wk for 15 weeks) to perform the following duties: perform daily health observations; provide nursing care; administer medications as needed; perform feeding and cleaning of both laboratory and aquatic animal species; operating cage washer and portable cleaning equipment; maintain general cleanliness of department; provide dog exercise and socialization, other related duties as assigned by the supervisor. Weekend work is required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Good oral communication skills; experience in a laboratory setting working with animals; preference will be given to those who have completed first or second year of the DVM program or have equivalent qualifications; must have the ability to work carefully and effectively under minimal supervision.
