Hours of Work: 

Varies 6 – 30 hours per week

$36.00 per hour, vacation pay included

May 2016 – August 2016, with a possibility of continuing into Fall and Winter semesters 2016/2017

The UPEI English Academic Preparation Program is seeking qualified individuals to teach in short-term summer programs and EAP classes during the summer. Should numbers warrant there may also be an opportunity for part-time teaching during the 2016/2017 academic year.  Information about all English language programs is available at http://www.upei.ca/studentlife/english-academic-preparation


• Teaching ESL and academic English from high beginner to advanced proficiency level
• Formative and summative evaluation
• Curriculum development & lesson planning
• Participation in staff meetings
• Holding office hours to provide student assistance
• Participation in some extra-curricular events
• Facilitation of  some special events and/or workshops
• Upholding the policies and regulations of the EAP program
• Other duties as assigned by the Coordinators


• Bachelor of Education with ESL teaching experience, or adult ESL teaching experience in combination with a relevant degree
• Excellent English proficiency (oral and written)
• Flexibility to work late afternoon or evenings for some courses
