The Department of Modern Languages at the University of Prince Edward Island invites applications for a sessional instructor to teach the following courses during the 2016-2017 academic year. This appointment is subject to final budgetary approval.

Fall Semester: September – December 2016

ML 101I: Introduction to Irish Gaelic Language I
This course is intended for students with no proficiency in the language. This course provides an introduction to Irish Gaelic language, through the study of pronunciation, vocabulary and grammar. It includes numerous oral drills, frequent written exercises, short oral presentations and simple readings.
Three hours a week

Winter Semester: January – April 2017

ML 209I: SPECIAL TOPICS – Irish Gaelic Language and Culture
A lecture course in which various topics or issues are explored in an introductory manner. Detailed descriptions of each year’s Special Topics courses will be available in the Department’s Calendar Supplement.
Three hours a week

Successful applicants should have relevant university degrees and enough experience in teaching Irish Gaelic as a second or foreign language at an academic college level. 
Priority will be given to qualified individuals on the UPEI sessional roster of the academic unit.  Please submit a letter of application, an updated curriculum vitae, the names of three referees, and a tentative course syllabus (if available) to:
