The University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI) invites applications from qualified candidates for the position of Director, Human Resources.
The only University in the Province, the University of Prince Edward Island is a dynamic institution, founded in 1969, built upon an Island tradition of post-secondary education dating back more than 150 years.
Reporting to the Vice President Administration and Finance, the Director of Human Resources is responsible for directing the human resource functions of the University. Specifically, the incumbent is responsible for the development and administration of human resource policies, recruitment, position classification, salary administration, group benefits, pension, labour relations and collective bargaining, organizational development, health and safety and biosafety, and related activities.
The University is particularly interested in candidates who have demonstrated that they can work with other administrators to foster a strong collegial, student-centered, and productive culture within the University community. The successful candidate should have a Master’s degree or equivalent in a discipline relevant to the field of human resource management, preferably in a university or similar setting, with several years of related work experience. Eligibility for the CHRP certification is highly desirable.
