The Department of Music at the University of Prince Edward Island invites applications for a sessional instructor to teach the following course during the Fall 2017 (September—December 2017). This position is subject to final budgetary approval.

MUSIC 353: Elementary Music Education
In this course, students examine various learning theories and teaching approaches to elementary school music. Students critically investigate curriculum expectations and repertoire choices and they develop pedagogical skills, focusing on the young child, grades K-3.

The successful applicant will have at least a Master’s degree in Music Education (Doctorate preferred) and public school teaching experience in music at the elementary level.

Preference will be given to qualified candidates with seniority on the UPEI Sessional Roster in the academic unit.
