$22.35 per hour plus 4% vacation pay, as per CUPE 1870 (salary under review)

The Veterinary Teaching Hospital is seeking applicants to create a list of Animal Health Technicians on an as needed basis to replace technical staff leaves as required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
To provide animal nursing care to animals in wards ensuring that all prescribed treatments and diagnostic procedures are carried out; to monitor and report to clinicians on duty any abnormalities in animals during shift; to maintain a high standard of cleanliness of all clinical areas (including equipment); and to carry out specialized tasks or operate specialized equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• A graduate of a recognized AHT program, a RVT is preferred
• Current experience with both small and large animals
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Self-motivated
• Ability to work independently, but also be part of a team
• Experience working in an academic setting is desirable
• A good previous work and attendance record
