2 – 3 weeks

One graduate or undergraduate research assistant is needed to organize two focus groups (one each in Vancouver and Victoria)


• Locate public space (i.e., in a library, community centre, or on a university campus) to convene two focus groups; preferable space: no cost or refundable deposit
• Recruit an inclusive/representative sample of 8-10 participants per group via email, internet, and other means for focus groups
• Communicate with participants informing them of group details and other information related to their participation
• Organize and set-up room/space for group meeting; purchase refreshments and other materials required for session
• Aid in facilitating focus groups alongside principal investigators (if desired)
• Aid in allocating and recording participant honoraria at the conclusion of each group


• Preference will be given to applicants who have knowledge of qualitative research methods (esp. focus group facilitation, face to face and telephone interviewing).  
• In addition, comprehensive knowledge of the cities of Vancouver and Victoria, BC, and their respective transit systems is a strong asset.
• Only UPEI students residing in British Columbia at the time of data collection will be considered for an interview
