$11.18 per hour (vacation pay included)

The International Relations Office is seeking applications for the position of Student Assistant(s). Reporting to the Administrative Assistant of this area, this position will focus on providing support to all areas of the International Relations Office.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Greet students in a friendly manner, answer inquiries and direct students to the appropriate staff person
• Planning and participating in English language program activities
• Coordinating incoming international visits, small meetings and events
• Maintaining and building the International Relations Office website and social  media outlets
• Assisting with research on current and future projects
• Assisting in the creation of marketing material
• Assisting in maintaining filing systems and databases
• Answering phones and responding to routine correspondence
• Sending information packages, etc. by courier
• Leading campus tours
• Performing other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS:

• The successful candidate will ideally be in second year, have cross-cultural experience and be familiar with working in a post-secondary educational environment
• Strong computer, organizational, and administrative skills with a keen eye for detail
• Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to work in both a team environment and independently and be willing to work occasional evenings and/or weekends
• Must be friendly, responsible, and comfortable conducting campus tours and leading delegations from location to location during visits

Priority will be given to University of Prince Edward Island students in accordance with Recruitment, Selection, Hiring and Employment Policies and Procedures manual.
