The Climate Research Lab is seeking two UAV and GIS technicians to assist the research team in conducting its field research on precision agriculture using UAV technology. The successful applicant will be responsible for assisting in the activities of this research project. Continued work is based on satisfactory performance and funding availability.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist in receiving and testing equipment UAV and geospatial equipment and software
• Receiving UAV specific and software training where applicable
• Assisting UAV missions related to ongoing projects
• Assisting in Processing and analyzing UAV data
• Assisting in the Maintenance of the fleet of UAVs

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Undergraduate in geospatial science or related science. Master’s degree or GIS certificate a plus.
• Experience flying UAVs a plus
• Experience using a variety of software suites a plus including; ArcGIS, Pix4D, Unity, Photoshop, Mission Planner, Drone Deploy, Flight Planner, Pix4D, Agisoft Photoscan
• Experience collecting and post processing GPS data a plus
• Excellent writing and communication skills
• Must be able to work as part of a team and independently and necessary
• Must be self-motivated
