$19.45 per hour, plus 4% vacation pay, as per CUPE 1870

Diagnostic Services invites applications to provide technical assistance and related laboratory services in the Post Mortem Room.
Working in the Postmortem Laboratory, assisting pathologists with necropsy examinations in a wide variety of animal species and assisting postmortem technical staff with their duties. These duties will include accepting carcasses from clients and taking case histories, appropriately handling and disposing of tissues and carcasses, collection and fixation of tissue specimens for teaching purposes, aiding in student laboratory and rotation preparation, cleaning and maintenance of the laboratory and equipment, maintaining sharpness and using knives, hand saws, and a vertical band saw. Periodically, assistance with various research projects may be required.

• High school graduate.
• Preference will be given to candidates with a Laboratory Technician/Technologist Certificate or Diploma.
• Preference will be given to candidates who have experience working with animal carcasses or a knowledge of animal anatomy.
