The Department of Development & Alumni Engagement is hiring students to work as Student Callers with the UPEI Annual Fund “Calling on You” Phonathon Program.

Student Callers hold an extremely important position within the University and gain valuable work experience that will help them throughout their lives. Through their work with the Phonathon, students learn to interact with people of all backgrounds and interests, communicate ideas and information clearly, and help to build strong relationships with our alumni. Plus, they raise much needed funds for their University.

Student callers work for the Department of Development & Alumni Engagement, which is the fundraising and friend-raising branch of UPEI. All callers are trained to call UPEI Alumni in order to carry out three main functions:
• Ask for financial support for the UPEI Annual Fund
• Update contact information, which allows us to stay in touch with our alumni family
• Share information about University events and campus updates while generating goodwill toward UPEI.

The “Calling on YOU” program will run from mid-January to end of March. Students are required to work a minimum of two evenings per week (no weekends) from 6 - 10 pm during the program. The wage per hour is $10.76 (vacation pay included).

• Applicants must be full time students at UPEI
• Applicants must be comfortable asking for donations over the telephone
• Applicants must be able to speak clear and fluent English
• Applicants must have the ability to communicate effectively, clearly and professionally
• Hired Callers must attend Orientation/Training session (paid)
